Bobby’s best friend, George Carter, took part in the Great North Run on September 15th 2013. Bobby and George had become good friends whilst at school together and were regular sparring partners at the Jon Jepson Black Belt Academy

Karate Seminar Weekend
Bobby was a Third Dan Black Belt and had been doing karate for about eleven years at the Jon Jepson Black Belt Academy. It was a large part of his life with regular training and competing. The news of his passing was a major shock to the academy and the lifelong friends he had made there so the academy held a 9 hour training seminar in memory of Bobby.
The Bobby Dorka Inaugural Football Cup
The Laidlaw Interiors Group, the company that Bobby had worked with for two years, organised the Bobby Dorka Inaugural Cup in his memory on September 22nd 2013. The day consisted of a football tournament with teams from Bobby’s family, friends and co workers.
The Bobby Dorka Memorial Golf Tournament
More than 10 teams of 4 teed off in the Derby Asian Golf Society’s annual fund raising event – raising money for the Derby Children’s Hospital in the process. This year’s event was kindly dedicated to Bobby Dorka.
